Why is there so many articles on the Web?
There are so many articles on the Web since national newspapers have all there articles featured on their websites as well as that there are online journal and online magazines/newspapers.
There are also alot of how to guide websites such as about.com, suite101 and ehow. All three of these websites have a wealth of information on from writing to how to become a freelance writer or even how to become an illustrator.
Articles are also used to promote services and products and are distributed through article directories. The use of chosen keywords in the article and included a web link is used for web promotion.
